يقف الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا بكل فخر وتأييد مع مئات الآلاف من الأستراليين الذين ساروا يوم الأحد عبر جسر هاربر في سيدني دعمًا للعدالة في فلسطين، وتحديًا للمحاولات السياسية الرامية إلى إسكات أصواتهم.
فبالرغم من الأمطار، ورغم محاولات الحكومة قمع المسيرة، ورغم حملات الترهيب السياسي المستمرة، خرج شعب سيدني بأعداد غفيرة، متحدين، ثابتين، وواضحين أخلاقيًا في تأييدهم للشعب الفلسطيني. من العائلات والمجموعات الدينية، إلى أصوات السكان الأصليين والمدافعين عن الحريات، أُعلن الموقف بجلاء: لن يقفوا مكتوفي الأيدي بينما يُجوَّع الأطفال، وتُلقى القنابل، وتبقى حكومتنا متورطة بالصمت أو بالتواطؤ.
لقد شهد العالم على مدى العشرين شهرًا الماضية واحدة من أبشع المجازر الجماعية في عصرنا الحديث، والمتمثلة في الإبادة الجماعية التي تتكشف فصولها في غزة، ومع ذلك اختارت حكومة “مينز” والقيادة الفيدرالية إما الصمت أو ترديد دعاية من يرتكبون هذه الفظائع. إن فشلهم في إدانة الإبادة الجماعية يمثل وصمة أخلاقية لا تُمحى، كما أن محاولاتهم لتجريم الاحتجاجات ونزع الشرعية عنها تمثل إهانة لكل أسترالي يؤمن بالعدالة والديمقراطية.
وقد صرّح الدكتور راتب جنيد، رئيس الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا، قائلاً:
“ما شهدناه على جسر هاربر لم يكن حركة هامشية، بل كان صوت الشعب. صوت متنوع، حازم، ويطالب بحكومة تعكس القيم التي يؤمن بها.”
وأضاف: “ينبغي لرئيس حكومة نيو ساوث ويلز، كريس مينز، أن يشعر بالخجل؛ فبدلًا من الاستجابة لنداء العدالة الصادر من أبناء الشعب، سعى إلى إسكاتهم. لكن شعب سيدني، بل وأستراليا كلها، لن يُسكت.”
ويدعو الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا حكومة “مينز” وجميع القادة السياسيين إلى التخلي عن محاولاتهم الجبانة لقمع حرية التعبير، وإلى الإصغاء لأصوات الضمير التي تعلو في مختلف أنحاء البلاد، واتخاذ خطوات عاجلة لاحترام القانون الدولي والدفاع عن حقوق الإنسان.
كما يُشيد الاتحاد بالدور البطولي والمنظم للمجموعات الشعبية التي دفعت بهذا الحراك قُدمًا بكل شجاعة ونزاهة. إن مسيرة يوم الأحد تثبت أن التضامن لا يمكن حظره، وأن الحقيقة لا يمكن إسكاتها، حتى في وجه المطر.
AFIC Stands in Full Solidarity with Harbour Bridge March for Palestine: The People Have Spoken, the Government Must Listen

The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) proudly stands in full solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of Australians who marched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge on Sunday in support of justice for Palestine and in defiance of political efforts to silence them.
Despite the rain, despite the government’s attempts to suppress the march, and despite relentless political intimidation, the people of Sydney came out in force. They were united, unwavering, and morally clear in their support of the Palestinian people. From families and faith groups to First Nations voices and freedom advocates, they made it known that they will not stand by while children starve, while bombs fall, and while our government remains complicit.
For the past 20 months, the world has witnessed one of the most horrific genocides of our time unfold in Gaza and, for all that time, the Minns Government and the federal leadership have chosen to either remain silent or to parrot the propaganda of those committing these atrocities. Their failure to condemn the genocide is a moral stain. Their attempts to criminalise and delegitimise protest are an affront to every Australian who believes in justice and democracy.
“What we saw on the Harbour Bridge was not a fringe movement but the voice of the people. Diverse, determined, and demanding a government that reflects their values,” said AFIC President Dr Rateb Jneid. “Premier Minns should be ashamed. Instead of heeding the public’s call for justice, his government has tried to silence them. But the people of Sydney, and of Australia, will not be silenced.”
AFIC calls on the Minns Government and all political leaders to abandon their cowardly attempts to stifle dissent, to listen to the voices of conscience rising across the country, and to take urgent steps to uphold international law and defend human rights.
We also commend the incredible grassroots organisers who have carried this movement forward with courage and integrity. Sunday’s march is proof that solidarity cannot be banned, and truth cannot be drowned out even in the rain.
