يُحيط الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا علمًا بالتقارير المتعلقة بالاضطراب الذي وقع أثناء صلاة العيد بمشاركة ممثلين حكوميين.
ويؤكد الاتحاد من جديد القلق العميق والمستمر داخل المجتمع المسلم إزاء موقف الحكومة الأسترالية من غزة وفلسطين. وهذه المخاوف حقيقية ومبدئية وتحظى بتأييد واسع، لا سيما في ظل المعاناة الإنسانية الهائلة التي شهدها العامان الماضيان. إن معارضة المجتمع لهذه المواقف مشروعة ومبررة، وستستمر في التعبير عنها بوضوح وثبات.
وفي الوقت نفسه، يشدد الاتحاد على أن للمساجد مكانة فريدة ومقدسة في الإسلام؛ فهي بيوت للعبادة والتأمل والوحدة، وترتبط بسلوك يعكس هذه القيم السامية.
وعند دعوة أي ضيف إلى المسجد، فإن التقليد الإسلامي يولي أهمية كبيرة لاحترام قدسية المكان ومراعاة وجود الزوار، ويشمل ذلك الحفاظ على كرامة التجمع وصون طابع المسجد كمكانٍ للسكينة والسلام.
وأوضح رئيس الاتحاد الدكتور راتب جنيد أن المساجد أماكن مقدسة، وأن الطريقة التي نتصرف بها داخلها تعكس قيم ديننا.
ويشير الاتحاد إلى وجود العديد من السبل المناسبة التي يمكن من خلالها، بل ينبغي، التعبير عن المواقف السياسية ومخاوف المجتمع، وقد تم، وسيستمر، طرح هذه الآراء بقوة في المنابر العامة، ومن خلال العمل المجتمعي والمناصرة، وفي التواصل المباشر مع الجهات الحكومية.
غير أن مثل هذه التعبيرات لا ينبغي أن تكون على حساب قدسية دور العبادة.
ويدعو الاتحاد جميع أفراد المجتمع إلى الالتزام بأعلى معايير السلوك داخل المساجد، مع الثبات في الدعوة إلى العدالة والمساءلة ووضع حد للمعاناة في غزة وفلسطين.
إن هذين المبدأين يمكن، بل يجب، الحفاظ عليهما معًا.
AFIC Statement on Incident at Eid Prayers Involving Government Representatives..
The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) is aware of reports regarding the disruption involving government representatives at Eid prayers.
AFIC reaffirms the deep and ongoing concern within the Muslim community regarding the Australian government’s position on Gaza and Palestine. These concerns are real, principled and widely held, particularly in light of the immense human suffering witnessed over the past two years. The community’s opposition to these positions is both legitimate and justified, and it will continue to be expressed clearly and consistently.
At the same time, AFIC emphasises that mosques hold a unique and sacred place within Islam. They are spaces of worship, reflection and unity, and carry with them an expectation of conduct that reflects these values.
Once a guest has been invited into a mosque, the Islamic tradition places importance on respecting both the sanctity of the space and the presence of visitors. This includes maintaining the dignity of the gathering and upholding the character of the mosque as a place of peace.
“Mosques are sacred spaces, and the way we conduct ourselves within them reflects the values of our faith,” said AFIC President Dr Rateb Jneid.
AFIC notes that there are many appropriate avenues through which political opposition and community concerns can and should be expressed. These views have been, and will continue to be, articulated strongly in public forums, through advocacy, and in direct engagement with government.
However, such expressions should not come at the expense of the sanctity of places of worship.
AFIC calls on all members of the community to continue to uphold the highest standards of conduct within mosques, while remaining steadfast in advocating for justice, accountability and an end to the suffering in Gaza and Palestine.
Both principles can, and must, be maintained.
