بيان صادر عن الجالية السورية والعربية في سيدني.. ماذا جاء فيه؟

أصدرت منظمات وأحزاب المجتمع السوري والعربي في سيدني بياناً إستنكارياً باللغتين العربية والإنكليزية على خلفية حادث مجدل شمس جاء في نصه التالي:

“إن الجالية السورية والعربية تدين البيان الذي أدلت به وزيرة خارجية أستراليا، سيناتور بيني وونغ، فيما يتعلق بمقتل المدنيين السوريين في مدينة مجدل شمس السورية المحتلة.
على الرغم من أن تصريح سيناتور وونغ على منصة X و مواقع أخرى كان موجهاً لإدانة قتل المدنيين، إلا أنها إرتكبت خطأ ونأمل أن يكون زلة، و ليس بياناً رسمياً لحكومتها، حين نعتت مدينة مجدل شمس السورية المحتلة بمدينة إسرائيلية. إن الموقف الرسمي للحكومات الأسترالية المتعاقبة من مرتفعات الجولان أنها أرض محتلة، وأن المستوطنات الإسرائيلية في الجولان المحتل هي منشآت غير شرعية.

إن مدينة مجدل شمس هي أكبر المدن السورية في الجولان، و جميع سكانها هم سوريون و يحملون الجنسية السورية، وهم كل ما تبقى من السكان الذين كان يبلغ تعدادهم 120 ألف نسمة قبل أن يتعرضوا للتطوير العرقي من قبل إسرائيل في عدوان 1967 وما بعد، وما هذه المأساة الأخيرة إلا إستمرار لمعاناتهم منذ عقود.

إن إستنكار سيناتور وونغ لهذه المجزرة قد عابه إنكارها لهوية المدينة وأهلها، عن طريق وسمهم بهوية الإحتلال، مذكرة بذلك
السوريون والعرب الأستراليون بمأساتهم التي يحملونها.
لقد أعاد بيان وزيرة الخارجية المشترك مع وزراء خارجية كندا و نيوزيلندا إلى الضوء التحيز السافر الذي تنتهجه الحكومة الأسترالية الحالية، حيث تتجاهل الإبادة الجماعية في غزة و الضفة بل و تدعم الحكومة الإسرائيلية المجرمة.
إن مجتمعنا يطالب سيناتور وونغ بتصحيح بيانها.”

The Syrian and Arab community in Sydney condemns the statement made by Australia’s
Foreign Minister, Senator Penny Wong, regarding the deaths of the Syrian civilians in the
occupied Syrian city of Majdal Shams.
Although Senator Wong’s statement on the X platform was directed at condemning the deaths
of civilians, she has made what we can only hope to be a blunder – rather than a statement on behalf of the Australian government – by calling the Syrian occupied city of Majdal Shams an
.Israeli city

The official Australian Government stance on the occupied Golan Heights is that it is a Syrian territory, and that the Israeli settlements in the Golan heights are illegal.
Majdal Shams is the largest Syrian city in that region and all its occupants are Syrian .citizens
They are all that remain of the Golan Heights population of 120,000 Syrians that were ethnically
cleansed by Israel in the 1967 invasion, and this latest tragedy is a continuation of their
suffering. Senator Wong’s sympathy has been poorly received due to the denial of the identity of
those people, by branding them with the identity of their occupiers. It has revisited long-held pain for Syrian-Australians.
The Foreign Minister’s statement again highlights the one-sided approach this Government has taken regarding the current war in the Middle East, ignoring the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the occupied West Bank and further more, supporting the .murderous Israeli Government
