يعرب الاتحاد الأسترالي للمجالس الإسلامية عن صدمته وقلقه البالغ إزاء الاعتداء المروع الذي تعرضت له عضوة البرلمان الفيدرالي المستقلة الدكتورة هيلين هاينز في وانغاراتا بولاية فيكتوريا، والذي أدى إلى إصابتها بجروح خطيرة.
ويدين الاتحاد الأسترالي للمجالس الإسلامية هذا العمل العنيف بشكل قاطع. فلكل أسترالي، بصرف النظر عن خلفيته أو معتقداته أو موقعه العام، الحق في أن يعيش ويعمل بأمان وكرامة. ولا يمكن بأي حال من الأحوال تبرير مثل هذا العنف.
وقال رئيس الاتحاد الأسترالي للمجالس الإسلامية، الدكتور راتب جنيد:
«لقد صدمنا وتألمنا بشدة جراء هذا الاعتداء المروع. إن أفكارنا ودعواتنا بالشفاء موجهة إلى الدكتورة هاينز وأسرتها وموظفيها والمجتمع الذي تخدمه. ونسأل الله أن يمن عليها بالشفاء، وأن يمنح القوة والسكينة لجميع المتضررين من هذا الحادث».
«ومهما كانت الظروف التي أدت إلى وقوع هذا الحادث، فإن العنف من هذا النوع أمر مرفوض رفضًا قاطعًا. فلا ينبغي لأي شخص أو أسرة أن تتحمل مثل هذه المعاناة، ومجتمعنا يقف إلى جانب جميع الأستراليين في إدانة هذا الاعتداء».
ويؤكد الاتحاد الأسترالي للمجالس الإسلامية متابعته للتحقيق الذي تجريه الشرطة، ويدعم إجراء تحقيق شامل في جميع الظروف المحيطة بالحادث، ومحاسبة كل من تثبت مسؤوليته وفقًا للقانون.
وفي الوقت الذي لا تزال فيه دوافع الاعتداء غير واضحة، يدعو الاتحاد إلى ضبط النفس في التعليقات العامة، ويحذر من التكهنات أو نسبة أي دوافع إلى الحادث قبل التحقق من الحقائق وإثباتها.
كما يشيد الاتحاد بأفراد الجمهور الذين تدخلوا بشجاعة لتقديم المساعدة للدكتورة هاينز، وبفرق الطوارئ والكوادر الطبية التي بذلت جهودًا كبيرة لإنقاذ حياتها.
وتبقى أفكارنا ودعواتنا مع الدكتورة هاينز وأحبائها، وننضم إلى الأستراليين في جميع أنحاء البلاد في الدعاء لها بالقوة والشفاء العاجل.
AFIC Condemns Attack on Dr Helen Haines MP
The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) expresses its shock and deep concern at the horrific attack on independent federal Member of Parliament Dr Helen Haines in Wangaratta, Victoria, which has left her critically injured.
AFIC unequivocally condemns this act of violence. Every Australian, regardless of their background, beliefs or public position, has the right to live and work in safety and dignity. There can be no justification for such violence.
AFIC President Dr Rateb Jneid said:
“We are deeply shocked and saddened by this terrible attack. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dr Haines, her family, staff and the community she serves. We pray for her recovery and for strength and comfort for all those affected.”
“Whatever the circumstances that led to this incident, violence of this nature is utterly unacceptable. No individual or family should have to endure such suffering, and our community stands alongside all Australians in condemning this attack.”
AFIC acknowledges the ongoing police investigation and supports a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the incident, with those found responsible held accountable in accordance with the law.
While the motivation for the attack remains unclear, AFIC urges restraint in public commentary and cautions against speculation or attributing motives before the facts have been established.
AFIC also commends the members of the public who courageously intervened to assist Dr Haines, as well as the emergency responders and medical professionals who have worked to save her life.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with Dr Haines and her loved ones, and we join Australians across the country in wishing her strength and recovery.
