في أعقاب المسيرة الجماهيرية المؤثرة التي شهدها جسر ميناء سيدني يوم الأحد دعمًا لفلسطين، يودّ الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا، برئاسة الدكتور راتب جنيّد أن يُشيد ويُعرب عن بالغ تقديره لقيادة وحضور مفتي أستراليا ورئيس الهيئة الوطنية للإفتاء التابعة للاتحاد، سماحة الشيخ رياض الرفاعي، الذي تقدّم صفوف المشاركين، وقاد الآلاف في مسيرة سلمية اتّسمت بالوقار والإباء، تعبيرًا عن التضامن مع الشعب الفلسطيني.
كما يُثمّن الاتحاد مشاركة العديد من الجمعيات الأعضاء من مختلف أنحاء ولاية نيو ساوث ويلز، التي شاركت تحت راية وطنية واحدة تجسّد قيم الوحدة والعدالة والإيمان.
وبوصفه الهيئة التمثيلية العليا للمسلمين في أستراليا، والتي تضم مجالس من كافة الولايات والأقاليم، وتُمثّل قرابة 200 منظمة عضو، يعبّر الاتحاد عن فخره بالموقف المبدئي والموحّد الذي اتّخذته الجالية المسلمة في هذا الشأن الجوهري
وقد صرّح رئيس الاتحاد الدكتور راتب جنيد قائلًا:
“نُعرب عن امتناننا لحضور سماحة المفتي، ولما أظهرته جمعياتنا الأعضاء من تماسك ووحدة موقف. لقد حملت مشاركتهم رسالة واضحة: إن الجالية المسلمة لن تُدير ظهرها للظلم، وسنواصل الوقوف إلى جانب الشعب الفلسطيني بكرامة ورحمة وعزيمة راسخة.”
ويُقدّم الاتحاد شكره العميق لجميع من شاركوا في المسيرة يوم الأحد، من المسلمين وغير المسلمين على حدّ سواء، ولا سيّما العائلات، وكبار السن، والشباب، وقادة المجتمع الذين لا يزالون يُجسّدون قيم العدالة والرحمة والتضامن في مواجهة التصعيد السياسي المتزايد وحالة الصمت الرسمي الممنهجة.
AFIC Acknowledges the Leadership of the Grand Mufti and Member Societies in Sunday’s March for Palestine

Following Sunday’s powerful march across the Sydney Harbour Bridge in support of Palestine, the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) wishes to acknowledge and commend the leadership and presence of the Mufti of Australia and President of AFIC’s National Sharia Advisory Board, His Eminence Sheikh Riad El-Rifai, who stood at the forefront of the march, leading thousands in a peaceful and dignified show of solidarity.
AFIC also recognises the many member societies from across New South Wales who participated in the march under the national banner of unity, justice, and faith.
As the peak representative body of Muslims in Australia, with state and territory councils in every jurisdiction and nearly 200 member organisations, AFIC is proud of the principled and united stance taken by the Muslim community on this critical issue.
“We are grateful for the presence of His Eminence the Grand Mufti, and for the strength and unity shown by our member societies,” said AFIC President Dr Rateb Jneid. “Their participation sent a clear message: the Muslim community will not turn away from injustice. We will continue to stand with the people of Palestine with dignity, compassion, and resolve.”
AFIC extends its heartfelt thanks to all those who marched on Sunday, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, and particularly to the families, elders, youth, and community leaders who continue to embody the values of justice, mercy, and solidarity in the face of rising political hostility and state-sanctioned silence.
