أدان الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا برئاسة الدكتور راتبةجنيد بأشد العبارات التصريحات التي أدلى بها رئيس الوزراء الأسبق سكوت موريسون، والتي استهدفت الإسلام والمؤسسات الإسلامية والمعلمين المسلمين في أستراليا.
إن هذه التصريحات متهورة، مسيئة على نحو بالغ، وخطيرة للغاية. فهي تعيد إحياء سردية فقدت مصداقيتها منذ زمن طويل، تسعى إلى تقسيم المسلمين إلى “جيدين” و“سيئين”، وتصوير الإسلام ذاته على أنه تهديد، والتعامل مع المجتمعات المسلمة باعتبارها موضع شبهة لا مواطنين متساوين في الحقوق.
وقال الدكتور راتب جنيد، رئيس الاتحاد: إن خطاباً كهذا يخلق حتماً انقساماً بين ما يُسمّى بالمسلمين “المقبولين” و“غير المقبولين”، حيث ينصّب الساسة أنفسهم أوصياء على ديننا. هذا ليس قيادة، بل هو أمر خطير، وقد أظهرت لنا التجارب التاريخية بوضوح إلى أين يمكن أن يقود.
إن خطاب السيد موريسون لا يأتي في فراغ، بل في وقت يشهد تصاعداً في أعمال العنف المعادية للإسلام، وتهديدات تستهدف المساجد والمؤسسات الإسلامية، واعتداءات جسدية على أفراد مسلمين. وفي هذا السياق، لا يكون هذا الخطاب مجرد طرح نظري أو مجرد كلمات، بل يسهم بشكل مباشر في بث الخوف والتحريض والضرر الواقعي على الأرض.
ويرفض الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا رفضاً قاطعاً الافتراض القائل بأن الإسلام يحتاج إلى تنظيم خاص أو رقابة أو إشراف تفرضه الدولة، على نحو لا تخضع له أي ديانة أخرى. إن الدعوات إلى “اعتماد” المعلمين الإسلاميين أو إعادة هيكلة الحوكمة الإسلامية تمثل اعتداءً جوهرياً على الحرية الدينية وعلى مبدأ المساواة أمام القانون.
وأضاف الدكتور جنيد: إن ديننا يخضع باستمرار للتدقيق والتسييس وإلقاء اللوم عليه، من دون أن يحظى بالدفاع أو الحماية القانونية. وعندما يستهدف مسؤولون سياسيون بارزون الإسلام على هذا النحو، فإنهم يضفون الشرعية على الكراهية التي يزعمون أنهم يعارضونها.
كما يشير الاتحاد إلى التناقض الصارخ في التذرع بالتلاحم الاجتماعي، في الوقت الذي يتم فيه الترويج لسرديات تَصِم جماعة دينية واحدة دون غيرها. فالتلاحم الاجتماعي لا يُبنى عبر شيطنة الأقليات، بل يُقوَّض بذلك.
وندعو القادة السياسيين على اختلاف توجهاتهم إلى رفض هذا الخطاب بشكل لا لبس فيه، والتأكيد بوضوح على أن المسلمين الأستراليين ليسوا مشكلة ينبغي إدارتها أو تصحيحها أو مراقبتها. نحن مواطنون متساوون، لنا الحق في الكرامة نفسها، والحقوق نفسها، والحماية نفسها التي يتمتع بها جميع أفراد المجتمع.
ولا يجوز التردد أو المواربة في هذه المسألة. فالصمت أو الردود الفاترة لا تؤدي إلا إلى تشجيع أولئك الذين يسعون إلى تحويل الخوف إلى رصيد سياسي.
ويؤكد الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا وقوفه الثابت إلى جانب المجتمعات المسلمة في جميع أنحاء البلاد، وسيواصل التصدي للإسلاموفوبيا بجميع أشكالها، سواء صدرت من الأطراف الهامشية أو من أعلى المستويات السياسية.
AFIC Condemns Scott Morrison’s Outrageous and Dangerous Rhetoric Targeting Muslims
The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) condemns in the strongest possible terms the remarks made by former Prime Minister Scott Morrison targeting Islam, Muslim institutions, and Muslim educators in Australia.
These comments are reckless, deeply offensive, and profoundly dangerous. They revive a long‑discredited narrative that seeks to divide Muslims into “good” and “bad”, to portray Islam itself as a threat, and to frame Muslim communities as objects of suspicion rather than equal citizens.
“Rhetoric like this inevitably creates a divide between so‑called ‘acceptable’ and ‘unacceptable’ Muslims, with politicians positioning themselves as arbiters of our faith,” said Dr Rateb Jneid, President of AFIC. “That is not leadership. It is dangerous, and history shows us exactly where it leads.”
Mr Morrison’s speech is not occurring in a vacuum. It comes at a time of escalating Islamophobic violence, threats against mosques and Muslim organisations, and physical assaults on Muslim individuals. In this context, such rhetoric is not abstract or theoretical. It directly contributes to fear, hostility, and real‑world harm.
AFIC rejects outright the premise that Islam requires special regulation, surveillance, or state‑imposed oversight in a way that no other faith is subjected to. Calls to “accredit” Islamic teachers or restructure Muslim governance represent a fundamental attack on religious freedom and equality before the law.
“Our faith is constantly scrutinised, politicised, and blamed, yet never defended or protected by law,” Dr Jneid said. “When senior political figures single out Islam in this way, they legitimise the very hatred they claim to oppose.”
AFIC also notes the hypocrisy of invoking social cohesion while promoting narratives that stigmatise one faith community above all others. Social cohesion is not built by demonising minorities. It is destroyed by it.
We call on political leaders across the spectrum to unequivocally reject this rhetoric and to make clear that Muslim Australians are not a problem to be managed, corrected, or monitored. We are equal citizens, entitled to the same dignity, rights, and protections as everyone else.
There must be no equivocation on this issue. Silence or half‑hearted responses only embolden those who seek to turn fear into political capital.
AFIC stands firmly with Muslim communities across Australia and will continue to speak out against Islamophobia in all its forms, whether it comes from the fringes or from the highest levels of political life.
