ادان الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا برئاسة الدكتور راتب جنيد قيام الولايات المتحدة بالاستيلاء غير المشروع على رئيس فنزويلا، ويُعرب عن بالغ قلقه إزاء ردّ الحكومة الأسترالية غير الكافي والمتسم بالمراوغة حيال هذا الفعل.
إنّ هذا السلوك يُشكّل انتهاكًا صارخًا للقانون الدولي، ولمبدأ السيادة الوطنية، ولأبسط القواعد الحاكمة للعلاقات بين الدول. وبغضّ النظر عن المواقف المختلفة من الرئيس مادورو أو من حكومته، فلا يحق لأي دولة أن تغزو دولةً أخرى، أو تختطف قيادتها، أو تفرض إرادتها بالقوة. إنّ تقرير مصير فنزويلا هو حق حصري لشعبها وحده.
إنّ إخفاق أستراليا في الإدانة الصريحة والواضحة لهذا الفعل يمثّل حلقة جديدة يُضحّى فيها بالمبادئ لصالح الاعتبارات السياسية الآنية.
وقال الدكتور راتب جنيد، رئيس الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا:
«إذا كان القانون الدولي يُطبَّق على بعض الدول دون غيرها، فهو في الحقيقة لا يُطبَّق على أحد. ولا يمكن لأستراليا أن تستمر في الحديث عن حقوق الإنسان، بينما تُبرِّر أو تتغاضى عن أفعال غير قانونية ترتكبها حلفاؤها».
ولا يمكن النظر إلى هذا الحدث بمعزل عن سياقه العام؛ إذ يعكس نمطًا أوسع وأشدّ خطورة، يتمثل في:
الانتهاكات المستمرة للقانون الدولي، وارتكاب الإبادة الجماعية، من قِبل إسرائيل في فلسطين؛
أفعال روسيا في أوكرانيا؛
وها هي الولايات المتحدة نفسها تتجاهل علنًا مبدأ السيادة في أمريكا الجنوبية.
وإذا جرى إدانة هذه الأفعال بصورة انتقائية، فإنّ دول الشمال العالمي تفقد أي مصداقية تدّعيها في مجال حقوق الإنسان، أو النظام الدولي، أو سيادة القانون.
وأضاف الدكتور جنيد:
«لا يمكن إدانة غزوٍ وتبرير آخر، ولا يمكن معارضة الاحتلال في مكان، مع تمكينه في مكان آخر. إنّ هذا النفاق لا يخفى على بقية دول العالم».
ويرفض الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا الادعاء القائل إنّ طبيعة أو شخصية أي قائد أجنبي يمكن أن تُتخذ ذريعة لانتهاك سيادة دولةٍ ما أو لاستغلال مواردها. فمثل هذا المنطق كان تاريخيًا مدخلًا للاستعمار والإمبريالية، لا للعدالة.
وعليه، فإنّ أستراليا مطالَبة بالشروع في بلورة سياسة خارجية مستقلة، قائمة على القانون، والأخلاق، والاتساق في المواقف، لا على الاصطفاف التلقائي مع القوة الأمريكية، بصرف النظر عن العواقب.
ويُعلن الاتحاد الفيدرالي للمجالس الإسلامية في أستراليا تضامنه الكامل مع شعب فنزويلا، ويؤكد حقه غير القابل للتصرف في تقرير المصير، والاستقلال السياسي، والتحرر من أي تدخل أجنبي. إنّ هذه المبادئ ليست محل تفاوض، ويجب أن تُطبَّق على الجميع دون استثناء، وإلا فقدت معناها كليًا.
إنّ التاريخ لن يُقيِّم الحكومات على أساس هوية حلفائها، بل على أساس مواقفها من العدالة حين يكون للموقف ثمن ومعنى.
AFIC: Australia’s Silence on the US Seizure of Venezuela’s President Undermines International Law and Human Rights
The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) condemns the United States’ unlawful seizure of Venezuela’s president and expresses deep concern at the Australian Government’s inadequate and evasive response to this act.
This is a clear violation of international law, national sovereignty, and the most basic principles governing relations between states. Regardless of one’s views about President Maduro or his government, no country has the right to invade another, abduct its leadership, or impose its will through force. That determination belongs solely to the people of Venezuela.
Australia’s failure to unequivocally condemn this action represents yet another moment where principle has been sacrificed for political convenience.
“If international law only applies to some countries and not others, then it applies to no one,” said Dr Rateb Jneid, President of AFIC. “Australia cannot continue to speak about human rights while excusing or ignoring illegal acts carried out by its allies.”
This moment cannot be viewed in isolation. It reflects a broader and deeply dangerous pattern:
• Israel’s ongoing violations of international law, and genocide, in Palestine.
• Russia’s actions in Ukraine,
• And now, the United States itself openly disregarding sovereignty in South America
If these acts are condemned selectively, then the Global North forfeits any credibility it claims on human rights, international order, or the rule of law.
“You cannot condemn one invasion while justifying another. You cannot oppose occupation in one place while enabling it elsewhere,” Dr Jneid said. “This hypocrisy is not lost on the rest of the world.”
AFIC rejects the notion that the character of a foreign leader can be used to justify the usurpation of a nation’s sovereignty or the exploitation of its resources. Such reasoning has historically been the pretext for imperialism, not justice.
Australia must begin setting its own independent foreign policy positions, grounded in law, ethics, and consistency, not reflexive alignment with US power regardless of the consequences.
AFIC stands in solidarity with the people of Venezuela and affirms their right to self determination, political independence, and freedom from foreign interference. These principles are not negotiable and they must apply universally or they mean nothing at all.
History will not judge governments by who their allies were, but by whether they stood on the right side of justice when it mattered.
