وجه الاتحاد الأسترالي للمجالس الإسلاميةكتابًا مفتوحًا إلى رئيس وزراء أستراليا، يتعلق بدعوة الحكومة الأسترالية للرئيس الإسرائيلي للقيام بزيارة رسمية إلى البلاد.
وأوضح الاتحاد أن هذه الخطوة تأتي في ظل الكارثة الإنسانية المستمرة والمدمرة في فلسطين، وما ألحقته من أذى بالمدنيين وحالات نزوح واسعة، إضافة إلى النتائج والإجراءات الجارية حاليًا أمام المحافل القانونية الدولية.
وتشير الرسالة المفتوحة إلى مخاوف تستند إلى القانون الدولي ومبادئ حقوق الإنسان، فضلاً عن التداعيات الأوسع على مستوى الثقة المجتمعية داخل أستراليا.
وأكد الاتحاد أنه “أخذ في الاعتبار الصدمة العميقة التي تعرّض لها أفراد الجالية اليهودية في أستراليا إثر أعمال العنف الأخيرة، بما في ذلك الاعتداء الذي وقع في بونداي”.
وتقرّ الرسالة صراحة بهذه الصدمة، وتعيد التأكيد على الرفض القاطع لمعاداة السامية وجميع أشكال العنصرية والكراهية.
وشدد الاتحاد على أن هذه الالتزامات لا تتعارض مع حماية حياة الفلسطينيين وكرامتهم وحقوقهم، بل تشكّل جزءًا لا يتجزأ من موقف مبدئي يدعو إلى ذلك.
وتهدف الرسالة المفتوحة إلى التعبير عن هذه المخاوف بأسلوب محترم وبنّاء، والدعوة إلى إعادة النظر بعناية في توقيت هذه الدعوة وتداعياتها، في ظل استمرار الأوضاع الكارثية وغير المحسومة في غزة والأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة.
ودعا الاتحاد الأسترالي للمجالس الإسلامية الأفراد والمؤسسات الراغبين إلى الاطلاع على النص الكامل للرسالة المفتوحة، وتسجيل تأييدهم لها في حال دعمهم لمضمونها.

Open Letter to the Prime Minister of Australia
The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils has issued an open letter to the Prime Minister of Australia concerning the Australian Government’s invitation to the President of Israel to undertake an official visit.
AFIC has taken this step in light of the ongoing and devastating humanitarian catastrophe in Palestine, the scale of civilian harm and displacement, and the significant findings and proceedings currently underway in international legal forums. The open letter raises concerns grounded in international law, human rights principles, and the broader implications for community trust within Australia.
In issuing this letter, AFIC has been mindful of the profound trauma experienced by the Jewish community in Australia following recent acts of violence, including the attack at Bondi. The letter explicitly acknowledges this trauma and reaffirms AFIC’s unequivocal rejection of antisemitism and all forms of racism and hate. These commitments are not in tension with, but integral to, a principled concern for Palestinian lives, dignity, and rights.
The open letter is intended to express these concerns respectfully and constructively, and to urge careful reconsideration of the timing and implications of such an invitation while the situation in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories remains unresolved and catastrophic.
